Or are they protected under doctor patient confidentiality?

Doesn’t this violate the doctor patient confidentiality thing? Or because you’re actually violating a law at the time, is it different than telling your doctor? Curious, not drunk or in a bad situation. Of course if I had alcohol poisoning, I’d go anyway and just deal with the consequences. Better than death.
