Sacrifice Unity Survival: June 30 ~ The unity, the effectiveness, and even the survival of AA will always depend upon our continued willingness to give up some of our personal ambitions and desires for the common safety and welfare. Just as sacrifice means survival for the individual alcoholic, so does sacrifice means unity and survival for the group and for AA’s entire Fellowship. [As Bill sees it] I have learned that I must sacrifice some of my personality traits for the good of AA and, as a result, I have been rewarded with many gifts. False pride can be inflated through prestige but, by living Tradition Six, I receive the gift of humility instead. Cooperation without affiliation is often deceiving. If I remain unrelated to outside interest, I am free to keep AA autonomous. Then the Fellowship will be here, healthy and strong for generations to come. Question by kitten_z0916: What alcoholic drinks would be considered “healthy”? Alcohol isn’t healthy, but what would be a better choice
Best answer:
Answer by James D I think fermented alcohol is generally better for you than distilled. Wine, especially red, has been shown to have some medicinal value. Alcohol’s danger is twofold–its physical effects after consuming too much, and its pshychological effects of addiction.

Question by Fefe Line: What is the healthiest Alcoholic drink while wanting to lose inches?
My current body fat is 25% (above average for my height/age/etc) and I want to be 20%. I know how to do this (went from 56% to my current). I’ve read that alcohol turns into acetate which is instant fat and also raises cortisol levels and decreases protein synthethis by 20-50% depending on how much you drink etc (this means your body will use muscle as energy for x days as oppose to fat which is BAD)
But sometimes I just want to go out and get drunk and I hate that I feel this, but if I do want to have some fun with friends what is the BEST drink that my body will utilize more than beer etc? Any opinions will be appreciated an I’d love a link to an article etc
cheerz!

Alcohol and Drug Rehab Center – Providing the tools for successful recovery www.therecoveryplace.net (877) 360-7623 an alcohol and drug rehab center is only successful if it gives its clients solid tools to return to an active and healthy life in the community. Greg had relapsed before, but attending The Recovery Place alcohol and drug rehab center placed focus on transition during the rehabilitation process. Greg shares, “In the treatment at The Recovery Place I wasn’t rushed out, everything was very structured and still, to this day, if something comes up I can stop by and talk to my old therapist.” CEO of The Recovery Place, John, feels that during addiction people lose their ability to perform necessary day-to-day life skills since they are only focused on getting the next drink or drug. The residential treatment program at The Recovery Place helps clients regain these skills by living in cooperation with each other. Next they transition into sober living housing that is managed by peers. Video Rating: 0 / 5

With challenge and support we can develop courage, faith and confidence [enough stress] , distress then fear, brave facing and ego may pull us down.. Inspired by Marilu Henner ~ “having realistic expectations helps identify where we have stress and distress, important in finding balance and to living a happy, healthy and rewarding life” -/- Expectations are resentments under construction! Daily Reflections ~ ACTIVE, NOT PASSIVE MARCH 24 Man is supposed to think, and act. He wasn’t made to God’s image to be an automaton. As Bill Sees It, p. 55 Before I joined AA, I often did not think, and reacted to people and situations. When not reacting I acted in a mechanical fashion. After joining AA, I started seeking daily guidance from a Power greater than myself, and learning to listen for that guidance. Then I began to make decisions and act on them, rather than react to them. The results have been constructive; I no longer allow others to make decisions for me and then criticize me for it. Today–and every day–with a heart full of gratitude, and a desire for God’s will to be done through me, my life is worth sharing, especially with my fellow alcoholics! Above all, if I do not make a religion out of anything, even AA, then I can be an open channel for God’s expression. Question by a l i s a: What are the dangers of my diet?
I am 18 years old.
5’5 and around 130 lbs.
My diet consists of alcohol ranging from beer to rum almost every night.
During the day my lack of apetite limits me.
I find myself eating only fruit, vegetables, and drinking lots of v8 and water.
I know this isn’t a healthy diet.
But, I was wondering what exact dangers are involved.
(other than alcoholism, that’s not my concern)
Best answer:
Answer by Serena You need protein and other vital minerals in your diet. Lose the alcohol until you’re 21. Then, when you’re of legal age try to drink no more than one beer a day or a glass of wine a few times a week.
Exact dangers? Depletion of vitamin stores, loss of lean muscle tissue, weakened heart, possible exhaustion, anemia, etc. You need to take care of yourself. It WILL catch up to you.

Family of an Alcoholic – When love just isn’t enough www.therecoveryplace.net (877) 912-7837 Alcoholism support for the family of an alcoholic is one of the most important aspects of recovery. Although family members are encouraged to help and heal together, sometimes the family and addict need separation before education about the addiction can be effective. The combination of alcoholism and family emotions, roles and reactions is complicated and often overwhelming. Forgiveness and understanding can be difficult for the family of an alcoholic. Family focused therapies at The Recovery Place help family members work through these feelings. Acceptance of these feelings and an understanding of how to help an alcoholic family member in healthy and positive ways are important aspects of the recovery process. Learning how each member has a role within a family dealing with alcoholism is important. With guidance from our professional clinicians, negative roles can be changed to more positive ones, and chances for family recovery increased. Video Rating: 0 / 5

The daily spicy sunshine soup conjured up by the news and other things which stimulate me. I can’t believe that people are so friggen myopic that they can’t see the world as it really is. There are certain priorities which must be pragmatically established, devoid of false premises based on moralistic judgments for the safety of future generations. Our laws must be based on logic and gurrantee basic human rights and not set up oppression under false pretenses. For all this deviancy of tyranny we will sooner or later pay the supreme price. How dare anyone try to claim my innocent personal healthy behavior is a crime when people addicted to gasoline cause death and destruction.

www.euromonitor.com Video in French. English Translation: Euromonitor International’s analyst Mylan Nguyen comments about the strengths and weaknesses of the Health and Wellness beverages sector in France in the first of a series of videocasts about Health & Wellness Food and Beverages in the country. Several factors, such as ageing population and regular government campaigns to warn people against the danger of rising obesity have accelerated the emergence of the Health and Wellness trend in France. One of the responses to this trend by manufacturers in the non-alcoholic drinks sector, is the development of functional drinks which provide hydration with extra benefits such as vitamins, minerals or antioxidants. However, despite these innovation efforts, French consumers have often remained quite skeptical about functional drinks, struggling to identify their real benefits. Products such as Knorr Vie or Vitamin Water by Coca-Cola haven’t performed as well as anticipated by manufacturers. This can also be explained by French consumers’ traditional approach to food and beverage consumption, which prevents them from being adventurous and does not leave much space for innovation. Instead, other product launches have been focusing on the “Natural” trend, developing products with simpler messages and benefits perceived as being more tangible. This explains the success of products such as Limon & Nada by Coca-Cola, Teisseire 100% Naturel or Fruité Matin Energie and its 10 … Video Rating: 0 / 5
