Ok.. I’ve tried to do a little research on this, and the internet is filled with a myriad of products, plans, etc. claiming to cleanse the colon and detox your system. I am not sure what to think. Are supplements really necessary? If so, are there products out there that are safe, with no “fillers”, etc.? Obviously I realize a healthy diet and exercise are a must. I am just looking for a plan to detox my system and clean out the colon… There are so many things out there.. and I’ve also heard scary stories about “natural” products…does anyone have personal experience and/or reliable advice about this? Thanks so much
btw, I already eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruit/veg, and exercise daily.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. If the general consensus is that a “program” is not necessary, then is there something I can do with diet/fasting for 1-2 days to achieve the same effect? As mentioned, my diet is healthy (includes lots of fiber) and I exercise daily- but too often I still feel “backed up” (sorry, I know it’s not a pretty topic!)

I’ve got a week off of work and I’m going to dedicate it to weight loss. (Obviously do a few things inbetween!)

I go to slimming world which is a healthy eating/weight loss club, I’ve been following the diet for 6 months now and I’ve lost 17lb, it’s easy to follow, basically healthy eating. I’m also a regular at the gym (Just not so regular as before!)

I’ve got a week off of work, to just chill. But I’m going to dedicate it to losing weight.

I’m going to follow the diet religiously and work out at my hardest at the gym…

Any tips at all? Such as workouts? Detox stuff? The maximum I’ve lost in a week is 3.5lb purely doing the diet.

Any tips or advice will be much appreciated! Thanks! (In advance!!)

I am trying to lose wieght and know that crash dieting isn’t for me nor does it actually work. I am 160 and 5’5, female. My ideal wieght is 130. I have been watching my calorie intake and am slowly adding in an exercise regimine, but I want to know if there is anything else I can do? I keep reading all types of online weight loss tips and books, but they all seem to have conflicting suggestions. I am also taking Hoodia, which does help me not feel hungry all the time (and I am taking the minium dosage)

Can someone suggest to me certain exercises I can do at home or in the car( I do lot of driving)?
Is there foods, other than celery, that has no fat and very little calories that I can eat? ( I hate celery)
Should I detox? I have lowered my calorie intake to 1500 or less, but should I go lower?
I would really appreciate some guidance.

I’m 26 years old and I never had acne in my life. A couple years ago, I was on a really healthy phase and started taking a detox tea (I had never done any detox before). The box said to take it for 2 months but I only took it for a few weeks because my skin broke out terribly.

I dont have those big white pimples, but my skin is very uneven, with lots of internal pimples instead, and lots of blackheads.

Nowadays my skin feels really really oily, I still have uneven skin with internal pimples, I wash my face with a high quality product and still have to use several of those facial bloating tissues a day.

Anybody knows a treatment that could turn my skin back to normal?

i’m 17 and i’ve been thinking about fasting. I don’t mean fasting like starving myself, but like the healthy fasting, like maybe juice fasts. I need to get rid of toxins and i want to detox, and cleanse. I think fasting for about 3 days would be enough to set my system on balance again. Does anyone have any information of how I can start fasting and maybe an example of a day on a fast or on a juice fast?

Loose weight by detox?

Thinking about trying a juice detox thing. Never tried it before. Are they healthy? Will they help with weight loss? Is the weight loss permanent, or just water weight? What kind has worked for you? Any advice is appreciated!

Two weeks ago, I met this woman for the first time for coffee. She was 31, but she was quite attractive and looked a few years younger than she really was. Her body size was very normal and healthy- neither fat nor thin.

Last night, she and I met up for dinner, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure for a few minutes whether I was seeing the same person I met two weeks earlier. Her face had become so long and thin, and she looked several years older than she really was.

During dinner, she told me that she was doing a “detox diet.” She told me that the primary purpose of the diet is not to lose weight (although a person will lose a few pounds anyway), but to cleanse the body. She said that she had been on this diet for about a week.

Could anyone tell me more about these detox diets? What are the benefits, and what are the drawbacks?

I eat pretty unhealthy food all the time. I’m usually eating processed, sugary, fatty food. I’ve decided to change my eating habits because I barely have any energy and feel sluggish. But my friend said to get any more energy, I have to do a detox and then eat completely healthy, cutting out all processed and sugary foods. I have to have a bowl of cereal in the morning (which I guess is processed) or else I’m hungry all morning, and I love Nature Valley granola bars and Triscuits. My plan was to cut out the really bad stuff and include more fruits, vegetables, and nuts, while still keeping ok foods (not healthy, but not unhealthy). Will I get more energy, or do I have to eat completely healthy to get back any energy?

I usually avoid this section like the plague…but you guys do know your fruits and veggies! So I’m asking for a little help here, I’d like to get my family eating healthier, less meat and carbs and more veggies and such. I want to become a little healthier. I was on a good health regimen before, but a little bout with anxiety had me eating fast food and gaining back some of the weight I so proudly lost. products … i have a terrible lifestyle, consume a lot of alcohol and other chemicals and I’m still very thin. I don’t consume a lot of calories – rather my diet mostly consists of smart ones tv dinners and canned soups, and I eat fast food about once a week or once every two weeks. I want to detox my system and start getting healthy, but I think it’s going to be hard to go vegan. Mind you, it’s not a politically oriented decision because I believe in the concept of the food chain and eating other animals, but I know it’s a tremendously healthy diet and I need some tips to help me change my lifestyle. Anyone have any insight?

Im 28 yrs old and seem to be in the worst shape of my life..I was always active and healthy when younger..But now I feel like I’m 50 because of yrs of bad habits. I want to get back into shape and thinking a detox is the place to start. What is the best ways to accomplish this.

I would like to do a detox diet to become more healthy and to gain more energy. I did some research, but it seems that most of the diets revolve around drinking different varieties of juices and smoothies and very little solid foods. Is there a diet out there that will detox but I wont end up starving myself in the end? I work out a lot, so its impossible to be on a fluid diet and still be able to exercise effectively. Your help would be appreciated!

I have been eating very very healthy and detoxing for the last week. I feel good physically, but my face broke out. I generally have a very clear complexion, so this is very unusual. Is this related? Could the detox also be pushing toxins out through me face or something?

i was going to college full time and working full time and im also a new mom. all that has taken a toll on my body because of the lack of time i had for meal preparation. ive been eating fast food crap for months with almost every meal

now im out of school and have more time on my hands. i want to start a detox to get out all the toxins in my body ……i need a good cleanse…. and commit to a healthier diet.

i smoked weed on friday but ive been drinking nothing but water and healthy foods. i plan on drinking one of those platinum detox drinks before i drug test. if i were to take cymbalta or tylenol pm tonight will the drink still work?

I’m 5’10 and I weigh 145 pounds. I want to lose 15 pounds for a special event (I recently gained a lot of weight) and was wondering how much I would lose if I only consumed natural fruit and vegetable juices for 2 weeks. I realize this isn’t super healthy, but it’s a detox and I’m not looking for criticism.
