Can a summons for small claims court for a medical bill be served to your job with a detailed list of medical expenses attached such as drugs given and supplies used? The summons was handled by several individuals before it reached the one intended. Should it have been delivered to the home address with this information?
Is this a HIPAA violation?

The HIPAA law allows providers to give detailed information in the billing process. The intent of that portion was to allow your provider to tell your insurance company the treatment they had provided and were seeking compensation for. What your provider did was really $h!tty but within the law.
HIPPA requires the hospital to keep your records confidential. Once they leave the hospital, HIPPA no longer applies.
The details they are releasing have nothing to do with your health care, they are required to show the court how much you owe and why.
Nope..
They are allowed to bill for services, treatments, drugs, etc. It appears you did not pay the bills so they are taking you to court. If the information getting out is an embarrassment to you, it is due to you not paying the bills.
Have fun in court.
