Question by candy0813: Are there any women on here who have taken one or two alcoholic drinks during pregnancy?
I am five months pregnant with twins, and I would love to have one drink without feeling bad. I had one or two drinks with my other four children, and they are just fine. Are there any other women on here who have a one drink or two, and still had a healthy baby?

No because I know better than to drink while pregnant. Doctors will tell you no alcohol while pregnant.

You can wait till you have the babies to have your much needed drink since you seem so urgent to have one.

whats more improtant a drink or your child your child might turn out fine but would you give a 1 week old child a sip of you drink no so why give a unborn child a drink thru your body think about your child and try non alcoholic beers and drinks thay tast nice

hey doctors say its ok to drink you just can’t overdo it a little alcohol now and then won’t do anything. I drank during my pregnancy ( not all the time of course ) and i gave birth to a healthy baby boy. so its ok to drink just as long as you are not an alcoholic

I had a drink of hard liqure when I was pregnant but at the time I didnt know yet that I was. If you feel that it is ok, then it is up too you. I havent had a drink or anything else from the moment I found out I was pregnant. I know plenty of women who had drank or even smoked all though pregnancy and babies were just fine…..but I also know women who didnt have ok babies and drank and smoke. Or course any doctor will tell you NO!!! but I think that it depends on your body and what happens…..the reason I choose not to do anything while pregnant is because if my baby did come out with a problem I would like to know that I did everything I was suppose I wouldnt want to feel like I drank a beer while I was pregnant and its my fault my baby has problems. Some people do believe that a glass of, I think red, wine is ok but its up to you. Also the only other thing is that I know a few sets of twins and all were under normal birth wieght because they say instead of each baby getting all the things it needs that they split it. So there is a chance that your babys could be born under birth weight already because you are carrying twins….So I dont know if I would add anything else to it. Good Luck and Make your choice not by what you want but what is best for your babies. You may be able to drink a glass of wine like I said and be ok. I would do as much research as I could before taking any chances

As long as it’s ONLY 1 BEER or just 1 DRINK not TWO its very spaced out times “weeks” between the drink you should be okay. prolonged DRINKING is what hurts the baby drinking weekly daily. HOWEVER TWINS are at way higher risk of things going WRONG. If you do have a drink then something happens you may have extream guilt about if it was SAFE enough. I never drank with my daughter. With my son I drank two times during the pregnancy, once a cup of beer about 8 weeks, once a mixed drink at a christmas party 5months. My son DOSE HAVE problems. He is slow learning gose to speach classes did the drink do it, NO, DO I FEEL BAD YES!.

I had some lower tummy pains a few weeks ago, and instead of giving me pain pills my OB/GYN told me to have a small glass, as in 4-6ozs of wine, or a half of a beer, not a big beer, but the usual 12oz size.II asked her about fetal alcohol syndrome and she said with it being a small amount and the placenta is pretty much a barrier for all things that pass through our bodies to the baby, it would be o.k.She stressed to not drink SEVERAL small glasses, but one a day.She is also a Gynecological Oncologist, so I trust her completely.I did have a couple of glasses, spread out through the week, and it helped..
    Just don’t go overboard..
